Rest on the Arabat Spit

The Arabat Spit is one of the longest sand spits in Europe. It stretches from Henichesk in the Kherson region to the village of Kam'yanske. On the one hand the spit is washed by the Sea of Azov, and on the other – Sivash Bay. On the territory of Arabatka there are such Ukrainian resorts as Henicheska Hirka, Shchaslyvtseve and Strilkove. In Shchaslyvtseve there will also be something to do with the whole family. In summer, there is an amusement park with attractions for adults and children. In addition, the village has a large contact zoo «Safari-Park». Black-maned lions, foxes, raccoons, camels, monkeys, ostriches and many other rare animals and birds live here. Some inhabitants of the menagerie can not only be seen, but also hand-fed.

The main pearl of the Arabat Spit is a salty pink lake located in the northern part of the spit. It is separated from the Sivash Bay by peninsulas. Despite the high salinity, algae grow in the lake, due to which the water turns an unusual pink color. Vacationers come here to stock up on salt and pink brine and take beautiful photos.
